Miss Rose Luxury 3D Mink Lashes strip lash style

How to Apply False Lashes: A Beginner's Walkthrough

Look at any wedding photo where the eyes really stand out, and there is a good chance the person is wearing false lashes. They add depth and drama that mascara alone can't match, especially under bright lights and flash.

The first attempt, though, can be a comedy. Glue on your fingers, a lash stuck to your eyebrow, the inner corner lifting all night.

Here is a calm, step-by-step method that works for beginners.

What you need

  • A pair of strip lashes
  • Lash glue
  • Small scissors
  • Tweezers or a lash applicator (optional, fingers work too)
  • Eyeliner and mascara
  • A mirror placed slightly below your face, so you look down into it

Choosing your lash style

  • Natural or wispy: for nikkah, walima, daytime events and first-timers.
  • Medium volume: for dawats, parties and Eid evenings.
  • Full and dramatic: for barat, mehndi and photoshoots.

The Miss Rose Luxury 3D Mink Lashes give a layered 3D look, are lightweight for long events and come in six styles, from softer to fuller. They are also reusable with proper care, which makes them good value through wedding season.

Lashes for your eye shape and the weather

  • Almond eyes: almost any style works. A lash that is a little longer at the outer corner gives a lifted look.
  • Round eyes: pick lashes that get longer towards the outer edge to stretch the eye shape.
  • Hooded or deep-set eyes: choose a thin, flexible band and medium length, so the lash isn't hidden under the lid fold or pressing on it.
  • Small eyes: go for wispy, lightweight lashes, trimmed to fit. Very long lashes all the way across can make small eyes look heavy.

Pakistan's weather matters too. In humid summers and monsoon, sweat and oil can loosen the glue at the corners, so give the glue its full tacky time and keep the tube in your clutch for quick fixes. In dry winter air, lashes usually stay put better, but the band can feel stiff, so warm it between your fingers for a few seconds before bending it.

Step 1: Do your eye makeup first

Finish your eyeshadow and draw a thin line of liner along the upper lash line. The liner hides the lash band and fills any gap between your natural lashes and the false ones.

A liquid liner works best here because it is deep black and dries quickly. The Miss Rose 24H Big Eye Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner gives intense black colour with a precise pen tip and is waterproof and sweat-resistant.

Curl your natural lashes and apply one light coat of mascara.

Step 2: Measure and trim

  1. Hold the lash strip against your lash line without glue.
  2. Start the strip a few millimetres away from the inner corner.
  3. If it extends past the outer corner, trim from the outer end, not the inner end.

Most strip lashes are too long for South Asian eyes straight out of the box. Trimming is the step that makes them comfortable.

Step 3: Glue

  1. Gently bend the lash into a C shape so it fits the curve of your eye.
  2. Apply a thin line of glue along the band. Add a tiny bit extra on the inner and outer ends.
  3. Wait 30 to 60 seconds until the glue turns tacky. This is the most important step. Wet glue slides; tacky glue sticks.

Step 4: Apply

  1. Look down into the mirror.
  2. Place the centre of the lash first, as close to your natural lash line as possible.
  3. Press down the outer corner, then the inner corner.
  4. Hold gently for a few seconds.
  5. Pinch your natural and false lashes together so they blend.

Step 5: Finish

Touch up your liner over the band if any glue or gaps are visible. A light coat of mascara on your natural lashes can help blend them, but don't coat the false lashes heavily if you want to reuse them.

Removing and caring for lashes

  • Gently peel from the outer corner. Never yank.
  • Peel off the dried glue from the band with tweezers.
  • Store them in their original case so they keep their shape.
  • Don't share lashes, and throw them away if they look damaged or your eyes feel irritated.

Then remove the rest of your eye makeup gently. The Miss Rose Avocado Makeup Remover Wipes are made with avocado oil and remove makeup without harsh rubbing, which is handy on late wedding nights.

Troubleshooting

  • Inner corner lifting: add a tiny dot of glue, wait for it to turn tacky, and press again.
  • Lashes feel heavy: trim them shorter or choose a thinner band.
  • Visible band: thicken your liner slightly over the band.
  • Eyes water: the lash may be too close to the inner corner. Trim and reposition.
